Mexican immigrant slams NYC migrants ‘waiting’ for hotel stay: ‘It’s nonsense’

They don’t do that in America.

A Mexican immigrant who has been working hard to achieve the American Dream has criticized a group of migrants involved in the ongoing standoff outside a Manhattan hotel where they were ordered to move to a new shelter in Brooklyn.

“This is bullshit,” Bonfilio Solis, 43, protested on Wednesday. “These migrants expect benefits from the government and do not appreciate what they are given. They are being very disrespectful.”

Solis, who lives in Morningside Heights with his wife and four children, said he would like to see firsthand what goes on outside the three-star Watson Hotel in Hell’s Kitchen.

But when he took out his cell phone to film the video, some migrants began to harass him, as did several journalists after outside activists used open umbrellas to try to hide the scene from the media.

The mayor’s office accused the activists of fueling the confrontation that began over the weekend.

Solis, who runs a repair business with two employees, said he was outraged by the situation.

“I’ve been here for 30 years. I never got anything from the government, but I busted my ass and now I have my own construction company,” he said. “My first job in America was washing dishes in a restaurant, then as a waiter, then I got a job at a construction site and rose to the rank of superintendent.”

Solis added: “Seeing these guys sitting here expecting everything to be given to them without effort is not fair to other migrants who want to work and are working for a better future.”

“They were given shelter in Brooklyn, but they do not accept it, because they are counting on an expensive hotel room. This is wrong,” he said. “It ruins the migrants’ reputation.”
