Woman, 30, killed after crashing into back of flatbed tow truck on Bronx highway: police
Police said the 30-year-old woman died early Saturday morning when her car crashed into the back of a flatbed tow truck on the Bronx highway.
The unidentified driver was heading south on Bronx River Parkway near the Westchester Avenue exit in Soundview around 4:20 a.m. when she crashed into a truck, police said.
The driver of the tow truck was responding to a minor two-vehicle collision on the highway and was idling near the curb when the collision occurred, police said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, but she could not be saved. Her name has not been released as police are looking for family members.
On Saturday morning, police closed at least one lane of South Bronx River Boulevard while investigating the accident.
