MDPD takes into custody a man who barricaded himself in a house in northwest Miami-Dade

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FL. (WSVN) — A SWAT situation is unfolding in the Northwest Miami-Dade region.

On Sunday morning, police were seen gathering outside a house near Northwest 178th Terrace and 54th Avenue, where a man was reported to have barricaded himself inside.

Miami-Dade police officers arrived in the area at 2:19 a.m. after reports of gunshots in the area and a man with a gun, officials said.

When the police arrived, the man refused to leave the house.

Live footage from 7News shows the police blockading the area.

The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Special Response Team apprehended the man without further incident.

He is now being interrogated as the investigation continues.
