Mark Daniels of East Windsor Regional School District named Mercer County Superintendent of the Year

Mark Daniels, the esteemed chief school administrator of East Windsor Regional School District, has been honored as the 2024 Mercer County Superintendent of the Year by the Mercer County Association of School Administrators (MCASA). With over five years of dedicated service to Mercer County and the EWRSD community, Mr. Daniels has achieved remarkable milestones, including leading the district through a comprehensive 5-Strategic Planning process spanning from 2024 to 2029. Additionally, his leadership has resulted in an updated brand narrative and district logo through an engaging identity rebrand process, successful navigation of the 23-24 NJQSAC Review, adept handling of challenges posed by COVID-19, and the prestigious receipt of the Best Communities for Music Education Award for the fifth time since 2019.

Under Mr. Daniels’ stewardship, EWRSD conducted a districtwide Equity Audit to identify and address programmatic barriers hindering students’ academic growth and access to opportunities. Furthermore, in support of Multilingual Learners, more than 100 EWRSD educators received intensive training in the SIOP approach (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol). Moreover, a commitment was made to train elementary special education teachers in the Orton Gillingham multisensory reading approach, exemplifying Mr. Daniels’ dedication to enhancing educational outcomes for all students.

Having served as the President of the Mercer County Association of School Administrators since 2023, Mr. Daniels’ leadership has garnered respect and admiration from peers and colleagues alike.
