Oregon congresswoman suffers concussion after being hit by car

U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamichi, of Ore., was released from the hospital hours after she was hit by a car while crossing a street in Portland, her director of public affairs said Saturday.

Bonamichi’s husband, U.S. District Judge Michael H. Simon, was also injured as the couple walked through a crosswalk, her communications director Natalie Crofts said on Twitter. She was being treated for concussions and cuts, while her husband suffered minor injuries.

Crofts said Bonamichi is expected to make a full recovery but will have to miss two town halls scheduled for Saturday.
