Marjorie Taylor Green trolls Biden with a white balloon

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, D-G., brought a helium balloon to the US Capitol on Tuesday to troll President Biden over his reaction to the recent Chinese spy flight ahead of his State of the Union address.

Green said it was “just an innocent white balloon” in a video she posted to her Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon, which also showed her walking around the Capitol holding the balloon. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Green said she brought the balloon to work because the Chinese spy flight crisis was “the number one issue” Biden should address during his speech later.

“The main thing he needs to decide is he’s hovering over me,” she told Fox News Digital. “The American people are still extremely upset and scared that the President of the United States allowed China to launch a spy balloon over our country. In fact, they knew about it on January 28th. The President knew about it. The Pentagon knew about it.”

“But they let China inject their spy balloon into our airspace, cross the country, spy on our military at military bases, food factories, cities, all of our infrastructure before it leaves the country, and they finally shot down him,” she continued. . “That’s what Americans are still thinking about.”

BIDEN ADMIN’S PRIVATE BRIEFING ON CHINESE SPYING CALLED THE REPUBLIC’S LEADERSHIP “NON-SPECIFIC, INSUFFICIENT”

On Saturday, the Pentagon flew a fighter jet to shoot down a Chinese reconnaissance balloon equipped with intelligence-gathering sensors over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of South Carolina. The drone was shot down two days after the Department of Defense admitted it and a week after officials first spotted it over the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Alaska.

Biden and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin defended the administration’s delay in handling the balloon, saying the Americans could have been seriously injured if they shot it down as it flew across the continental United States. However, Republicans have criticized the administration for looking weak on the world stage.

“President Biden needs to explain what happened,” Greene told Fox News Digital. “He needs to apologize to America and he needs to tell the Americans how tough he will be on China.”

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Rep. Lauren Bobert, R-Colo., Emily Brooks saidreporter for The Hill that she would not “bring a white helium balloon with her if you ask” when asked if she was referring to any symbolic protest in favor of the Union clause.
