Marisela Botello case: Trial begins for 1 of 3 suspects

The accused killer is on trial more than two years after a Seattle woman was found murdered in Dallas County.

Jury selection is due to begin on Monday for Nina Marano’s trial.

She is one of three suspects charged with the murder of 23-year-old Maricelo Botello, who disappeared in October 2020 while visiting a friend in Dallas.

Botello was last seen leaving a bar at Deep Ellum with Charles Beltran, investigators said.

Her body was found six months later in a field in southern Dallas County.

Beltran and Marano lived in the same house. They were arrested for the murder along with Marano’s wife, Lisa Dykes.

Then, on Christmas Day 2021, police said that Marano and Dykes cut off their ankle bracelets and fled the country together.

They were later re-arrested in Cambodia.
