Man critically injured in Fort Worth apartment shooting

FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth police are investigating a nighttime shooting that left one person critically injured.

It happened around 4:00 am Tuesday at the El Rancho Escondido apartment on the Las Vegas Trail.

Police said officers arrived to find an adult male who had been shot dead in the alleyway of a residential complex.

North Texas police officers will attend the funeral for the son of a former Fort Worth chief who was killed in the line of duty.

He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There is no word on the suspect or motive for the shooting.
