SAN ANTONIO. The man was arrested after he led law enforcement in a high-speed chase on Friday morning, officials said.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says a man drove up to a house on the southeast side around 00:30 a.m. and got into some kind of argument with another person.

At some point, according to the sheriff’s office, the man fired a gun at the side of the house and then drove away in his car.

Elmendorf police assisted the BCSO when they tried to stop the suspect’s car. However, he continued to drive.

In fact, he was driving so fast that the Elmendorf police called the situation dangerous. He is said to have followed stop signs and at one point almost ran head-on into a deputy on Highway 181 near Old Corpus Christi Road.

The suspect eventually crashed on I-37 at about 181, but got out of the car and attempted to run away.

The BCSO said he didn’t get very far before being apprehended.

The San Antonio Police Eagle Unit helped with the incident, and police say they found a weapon inside the car.

The suspect has been arrested and officials say he will face several serious charges.
