protest

According to court records, a 17-year-old boy called a podcast show and spoke about the sexual abuse he and his brother were subjected to by Cohen. The documents do not state when the victim called the show.

The teenager told the podcaster that the suspect forced him to perform sexual acts and claimed that Cohen repeatedly “raped” him from the age of 11, and this continues.

The teenager noted that eight CPS investigations had been carried out against his adoptive father, but nothing had been done. He said he would like to wait until he was 18 to talk about the abuse because, according to court records, no one ever believed him.

The teen told the podcaster that he was able to call the show through a disposable phone using Wi-Fi, the documents show.

The CPS was notified and agents were able to track the caller by IP address after watching the podcast.

Action

When CPS contacted and questioned the teenager on Feb. 6 at the Houston Police Department, he initially denied the allegations about his adoptive father and what was said on the podcast, according to court records.

When the CPS investigator replayed his voice heard in this episode, he became frightened and admitted that he was the one who called and detailed the abuse he and his brother had endured while living with Cohen, documents show. The teenager also admitted that the sexual abuse began just two weeks after he was adopted by Cohen.

He told the investigator that he tried to run away and report the abuse, but Cohen would turn all his siblings against him and blame him.

During an interview, the teen said that when Cohen got mad at them, he called them “white trash” and “racist.” He detailed an incident in which his brother escaped, but the suspect lied to the deputies of the constable, saying that the boy was sleepwalking when they brought him back.

According to the records, the teen said that Cohen was fake and pretending to be unable to walk due to illness, and only uses his wheelchair when people come to the house or when they are in public.

CPS also learned that Cohen was released on bail for indecency with a child in a previous case on October 21, 2019.
