Lisa Marie Presley dies aged 54 after being hospitalized

Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of singer and actor Elvis Presley, has died. She was 54 years old.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the terrible news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother Priscilla Presley said on Thursday evening. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

Sources told TMZ that Presley was pronounced dead at a Los Angeles hospital.

The news of Presley’s hospitalization first appeared in the paper on Thursday morning. Her mother later confirmed the news on social media that she was in the hospital.

“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie has been rushed to the hospital,” Priscilla Presley wrote in a statement. “Now she is receiving the best possible care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel prayers from all over the world and ask for privacy during this time.”

Los Angeles County paramedics were sent to the Calabasas home at 10:37 a.m. after reporting a woman in complete cardiac arrest, according to Craig Little, a county fire department spokesman. Property records show that Presley lives at this address.

The paramedics arrived about six minutes later, Little said. A subsequent statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and “determined that the patient had signs of life” before immediately taking her to the hospital.

Paramedics were able to restore her pulse before she was taken to the hospital, according to TMZ sources, adding that someone at the scene administered adrenaline to help Presley regain her pulse.

A source with direct knowledge also told the publication that Presley’s housekeeper found her unanswered in her bedroom. Around the same time, Lisa’s ex-husband, Danny Keogh, returned home after driving the kids to school and did CPR until paramedics arrived. According to the publication, Danny and Lisa live together.

FOX has reached out to Presley’s representatives for comment.

The news comes just days after the singer attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday, where she and her mother watched Austin Butler win for her role as Elvis in director Baz Luhrmann’s biopic. She called his performance “mind blowing” during an interview on the red carpet of Entertainment Tonight.

Just a few days earlier, she had been in Memphis, Tennessee, to Graceland – the mansion where Elvis lived – to celebrate her father’s birth anniversary on January 8th.

Presley was known as an iconic American singer-songwriter who released three albums, “To Whom It May Concern”, “Now What” and “Storm & Grace”.

She is survived by three children, including actress Riley Keough, and was previously married to Michael Lockwood, Nicolas Cage, Michael Jackson, and Danny Keough.

In 2020, Presley’s son Benjamin Keough committed suicide. He was 27 years old. Presley’s spokesman Roger Widinowski said in a statement to The Associated Press that she was “heartbroken” to learn of her son’s death. He was the grandson of the late Elvis Presley.
