Kansas City police investigate murder near 83rd Street and Highland

After the fatal shooting on Sunday evening, Kansas City police launched an investigation.

Officers were sent to the 83rd Street and Highland Avenue area at approximately 8:15 p.m. in response to the sounds of gunfire. The situation was upgraded to gunfire while they were on their way there.

When the police arrived, they found an adult male who had been shot dead and did not react when they approached him.

Arriving at the scene, rescuers found that the victim had already died.

According to the investigation, the shooting was carried out inside the living quarters. Investigators have detained one person and are not looking for other suspects.
