Justice Department Drops Sex Trafficking Case Against Rep. Matt Gaetz

The Justice Department has closed an investigation into Rep. Matt Goetz (R-FL) with no charges, according to reports by Florida Congressman and news.

Gaetz’s office said in a statement, “The Department of Justice has confirmed to Congressman Gaetz’s attorneys that their investigation is complete and that he will not be charged with any crimes.”

The Justice Department was investigating whether Gaetz and his former political ally Joel Greenberg paid or offered gifts to underage girls and chaperones in exchange for sex, AP reported. Greenberg pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal and was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison.

Gatz, known as a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump and a conservative troublemaker, has maintained his innocence throughout the investigation. However, while the investigation was going on, leftists viciously attacked him as a “sex trafficker”. Some leftists continued to cling to their accusations even after the Justice Department dropped the case.

Gaetz’s other associate, Jason Pirozzolo, a hand surgeon and campaign sponsor who was also under investigation, was also notified that the Justice Department closed the investigation against him without charge.

“Doctor. Pirozzolo asks that the privacy of him and his family be respected as the last few years have been extremely difficult to endure,” his lawyer said in a statement, AP reported.
