Jordan: The media and the left should care about Twitter files, FBI actions, these abuses can and have been used against them

During an interview taped Thursday and published on Friday’s CBS “The Takeout” podcast, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said the behavior exposed in the Twitter files is an issue that members of the media “should really care about.” “. o” because it directly affected freedom of the press and indicated that the use of federal law enforcement as a weapon had been used against the left in the past.

CBS News anchor and chief correspondent in Washington, Major Garrett asked about the Disinformation Management Council and said it does not support the federal government determining what is true and what is not.

Jordan responded, “Adam Schiff contacted Twitter to say delete the journalist’s post. This is something you guys need to take care of.”

Garrett then asked, “What is the scope, just two years of a Biden administration? Has the government never before used weapons against American citizens?”

Jordan replied, “Well, of course.” Citing Lois Lerner’s situation with the IRS as an example, Jordan added: “So this is – I think – a relatively recent concern. Although, if you go back to the 70s and the Church Commission, they were very concerned about what the FBI was doing at that time. At that time he was actually more left oriented, I think in many ways. And… but it was just as bad.”

Jordan also mentioned the Democrats’ attacks on the committee before it was formed and said, “Why don’t you guys work with us? You used to care about the First Amendment.
