Actor and climate activist Jane Fonda has endorsed District 6 supervisor candidate Honey Mahogany.

The announcement was made via email and a YouTube video from her namesake political organization, Jane Fonda Climate PAC.

In the YouTube video published Saturday to the Mahogany for Supervisor channel, Fonda called Mahogany “the most qualified candidate” in the race.

If elected, Mahogany would be the first transgender woman to serve on the Board of Supervisors.

Fonda’s PAC, or political action committee, aims to fund political candidates who support combatting climate change, according to its website.

Mahogany could not be immediately reached for comment.
