Instagram-famous Texas home with helipad and chapel is up for sale for $5.59 million

Not far from Dallas, a photogenic slice of farm life enters the market on Monday night.

A rustic ranch with a serious social media following is looking for a new owner as its current ones move to new pastures.

“It’s a way of life,” said Jennifer Horowitz, who bought the 56-acre estate in 2014 with her husband Glen from a family that settled the land in the 1800s. “My husband was in the corporate world, worked in Dallas, and in his experience, he liked to drive out of the city to the cows and the stars.”

The complex, which sold for $5 million in 2022 and then was taken off the market last month, is set to relaunch for $5.59 million with Douglas Elliman’s Tracy Mentor and Bria Brown.

In addition to the big sky, 608 Old Center Church Road also features a heliport, a swimming pool, a three-bedroom guest house, a party barn, and a custom-designed chapel. The couple built the chapel both so that Jennifer would have a “shed” to “cut off” and as a tribute to the church that used to be on the property for which the Whitesboro, Texas street was named.

“Their last service was in the 1930s,” Horowitz told The Post, adding that the church was demolished sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s. “They used to baptize everything in our stream.”

Visible from the front porch of the main house, the chapel built by the Horowitzes is fully furnished with historic pews that are over a hundred years old.

In the meantime, her husband and sons got their own special place to stay: a party barn, the outfitting of which Jennifer has documented on her 48,000-follower Instagram, along with other regular news of her property transformation.

Elsewhere on the property is the 3,782-square-foot, four-bedroom main residence, as well as a stocked fishing pond, walnut trees, a spring stream, several barns, and a commercial-grade fire pit. (All outbuildings are included in the sale, although livestock needs to be discussed.)

Since the renovations were completed, the complex has become a popular wedding and rental venue, with previous guests including an NFL player, two politicians, a fashion model and a famous golfer – all of whom Jennifer is not allowed to be named.

It also served as a filming location for country singer Cody Jink’s “Hurt You” music video. In total, “60 or 70” weddings took place on the territory of the complex. And while the Horowitzes themselves don’t own a helicopter, the helipad has been used “quite often” by guests, including brides who have used it for “an unexpected entry or exit,” Horowitz added.
