In Texas found a piece of a 1000-pound meteorite that fell to Earth
Found part of the meteorite that rocked South Texas last week.
Last Wednesday evening, a space rock fell west of McAllen.
Video from a home CCTV camera captured a loud sonic boom and bird reactions as it fell.

NASA estimated that when it hit the atmosphere it was about 2 feet wide and roughly 1,000 pounds. Most likely, before falling to the ground, it fell apart into several parts.
NASA has also released a map showing a buried field or area where meteorites are likely to have fallen.

Search crews found one of the smaller meteorites in Starr County.
The American Meteor Society posted a photo of it on social media, saying it was the third object found in the world in three days.
Anyone who finds a meteorite is strongly advised to contact the Smithsonian Institution so that it can be studied.
