‘I’ll shoot you bro!’: Fort Worth police release video of officer shooting suspect

Police said the officer shot the suspect after answering a call last Saturday about a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex.

Fort Worth, Texas. The Fort Worth Police Department released video of an officer shooting a suspect during a chase last Saturday.

The police were first called on a domestic disturbance call at around 12:24 p.m. in the 4900 block of Rutland Avenue.

In the footage presented, both from the surveillance camera and from the body camera of the arriving officer, the officer can be heard yelling at the suspect as he runs away from the officer.

“Hey, get your hands out of your pockets!” the officer called to the suspect. “I’ll shoot you, bro!”

A stun gun was used to knock the suspect off his feet, but police said it was ineffective. Police said the suspect then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the officer, causing the officer to fire the gun at the suspect.

The released footage shows the suspect falling and being shot by a police officer. There is no way to see if the suspect actually pointed the gun at the officer. But the footage shows the suspect throwing away what appears to be a gun after being shot at, and the footage includes a photo of the gun lying on the ground at the scene.

The published footage from the body camera did not show the officer shooting the suspect, but an officer assisting him from behind.

According to Noakes, the police immediately treated the suspect, who was then taken to the hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition at present.

Police said the suspect was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a family member and aggravated assault on a government official.

Noakes said the gun was found at the scene in close proximity to the suspect. The police will investigate whether the gun was pointed at the police.

Noakes said the stun gun deployment will be investigated to determine the cause.

According to Noakes, the details of the call include that the victim’s sister reported that her brother had threatened her with a firearm and that the officers who arrived knew they could be confronted with firearms.

Four investigators, four internal affairs investigators, and the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office arrived at the scene and will conduct an investigation.
