Ice on I-20 causes a 20-mile traffic jam in Palo Pinto and Parker counties.

Hundreds of drivers were stuck in a 20-mile traffic jam on Interstate 20 in Palo Pinto and Parker counties Tuesday morning due to icy road conditions.

Traffic on I-20 eastbound from Highway 4 in Palo Pinto County is still shut down, according to FOX 4 Traffic reporter Chip Wagoner. The backup is all the way to Weatherford in Parker County.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed very slow traffic in the area due to icy conditions and what appeared to be several vehicles stalling.

As of 4:00 am, many 18-wheelers are stuck because they can’t gain traction. But according to Chip, some smaller 4x4s were able to move and punch through 18-wheelers.
