“I can hit better than a cowboy kicker”: Texas Governor Greg Abbott criticized Brett Maher
Brett Maher’s cowboy kicking problems dominated sports radio stations all week. It now dominates the governor’s mansion in Austin.
Brett Maher blocked his first extra point attempt in a divisional round playoff game against the 49ers on Sunday. A shot that would have been missed even if it hadn’t been blocked in the same way that his four extra points were missed in the Wild Card round against the Bucs.

That latest extra score appears to have hit Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) limit, as evidenced by this tweet posted by Abbott shortly after the lockdown.
I swear I can hit as good as a Dallas Cowboys kicker.

But wait! There is good news for Cowboy fans!
Shortly after Abbott’s justified but probably inaccurate tweet about Maher, a Cowboys kicker hit a 25-yard field goal to tie the game at 9–9.
It is unclear what impact Abbott’s tweet had on Maher’s positive turn of events. But, if Abbott is superstitious or even slightly superstitious, he might want to tweet that he can also throw better than Duck Prescott. Who knows? This may cause the Cowboys to land.
