Here’s Where You Can Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2023 in Houston

Houston is a long way from Ireland, but the city of Bayou still loves to come and go for St. Patrick’s Day.

On Friday, green beer, Irish whiskey, corned beef and cabbage will be popular in the Houston area. And since it’s spring in Houston, so are the crabs.

Several festivities take place in local bars and restaurants, and in some cases the celebration will last until Saturday or later. And while many St. Patrick’s Day events are more adult-oriented, there are also activities for the whole family.

Here’s a rundown of the many ways Houstonians can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in 2023.

FRIDAY, MARCH 17

St. Patrick’s Day Festival Lucky 2023

Lucky’s Pub is hosting an all-day downtown St. Patrick’s Day party with Bud Light and 94.5 The Buzz, broadcast locally at 1800 Texas Ave. Three city blocks across from Minute Maid Park will be closed for 21 days. a comprehensive outdoor event featuring live music, DJs, food from local restaurants and, of course, green beer. Tickets for the event cost between $10 and $60 and are available at the address. The party starts at 10:00 and lasts until 2:00. There is no general admission fee before noon.

Saint Patrick’s Day at Saint Arnold Brewing Company

Guests have free access to a one-day event hosted by Houston’s oldest craft brewery, which is transforming its beer garden and restaurant into a green-themed holiday destination. From 14:00 there will be Pipe Fooligan drums and bagpipes, Jared Gibb pub songs and covers, Irish dances with Clann Keeley and other Irish music from Das 1.st. Slint. St. Arnold also hosts their annual Donegal Beard Growing Contest at 7:00 pm. There will also be a special edition bourbon barrel-aged Irish Imperial Stout that was brewed in 2018 and bottled in 2020. Trinity Irish Dance Company at the Miller Open Air Theater

The Miller Open Air Theatre, located in Hermann Park, kicks off the 2023 season with a free St. Patrick’s Day performance by acclaimed Irish dance company Trinity. Tickets are available from 10:00 Thursday and can be purchased online at. The show starts at 20:00 and will last two hours. It will also be streamed online.

St. Patrick’s Day Party at Bobcat Teddy’s Ice House

Crayfish, tacos and Irish stew will be among the offerings at Bobcat Teddy’s, which hosts parties from 10:00 am to 2:00 am at 2803 White Oak. Dr. Guinness will be on tap along with a range of bands, DJs, Irish dancers and pipers. Visit for more information.

St. Paddy’s Day at the Houston Freight Yard

There is no admission charge for this EaDo celebration, which starts at 11:00 am and runs until 2:00 am. There will be live music, Irish drinks and Irish food from local food trucks at Truck Yard, 2118 Lamar St. Visit the event page on for more information.

El Watson’s house

Saint Patty’s Day

The Shiloh Club, 1321 Studewood St., hosts a patio party starting at noon. Crayfish will sell for $12 for a two-pound box, and there will also be specialty drinks, beer and shots, as well as a dunk tank and other patio games. DJ Cam will provide entertainment. Lil Nate live at the bar 5015

All Saints Block Party on Washington Avenue

Pubcrawls.com is hosting two holiday pub crawls in Houston, one starting at 5:00 pm on Friday and the other starting at noon on Saturday. St. Patrick’s Day Meetup Run Houston

If drinking beer and whiskey isn’t for you, or if you’re looking to burn off some calories the day after the celebration, there’s a series of celebratory runs scheduled Saturday morning at Buffalo Bayou Park.
