Here’s How Harris, Brazoria, and Galveston Counties Can Get Help Paying Their Utility Bills

The BakerRipley Utility Assistance Program will help qualified residents pay their electricity, water and gas bills.

HOUSTON. Several Houston residents may be eligible for help paying utility bills.

BakerRipley is currently accepting applications for the $15.2 million Utility Assistance Program. The organization said the funds will help residents pay their electricity, water and gas bills.

How to qualify

  • Applicants must be a US citizen or legal resident who resides in Harris, Brazoria, or Galveston counties.
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their utility bill to BakerRipley and provide proof of income.

BakerRipley said it could take up to eight weeks for applications to be processed and they will be processed in the order in which they are received.

Funds will be paid directly to the utility provider on behalf of the applicant.

How to apply

Residents can apply for the program online or download the app through the BakerRipley website. Versions available in English and Spanish.
