Greenacres man sentenced to life in prison without parole

WEST PALM BEACH – A 25-year-old Greenacres man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder with a gun and armed robbery of a man in 2017.

On Thursday, District Judge Howard Coates immediately ordered Jeffrey Joseph to serve a life sentence for the January 10, 2017 fatal murder of Allen Record. Joseph was also consecutively sentenced to at least 10 years on robbery charges in a four-day trial in West Palm Beach.

The incident took place on the 300 block of Chillingworth Drive after the victim and his friend answered a local Craigslist ad for a motorcycle for sale.

Record and his friend were approached by two masked armed men. The record was shot during a robbery and his mobile phone was stolen. Investigators said the phone was later found on the suspect’s escape route from the scene with Joseph’s fingerprints on it.

During the trial, prosecutors alleged that Joseph was trying to influence the jury through a third party. The judge accepted the motion to annul Joseph’s cell phone, mail, and visit until the end of the trial. He was also placed in isolation.
