Grande Prairie teacher arrested for alleged relationship with student

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSNewsTexas.com) A former high school teacher in Grande Prairie is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Cody Bush, who taught at South Grand Prairie High School, was arrested Sunday.

The county said the administration first became aware of the alleged relationship on March 2, 2023, and promptly placed Bush on leave.

Bush resigned from his teaching position and the incident was reported to the State Educator Certification Board.

“I do not tolerate any kind of inappropriate communication or contact between teacher and student,” Grand Prairie ISD superintendent Linda Ellis said. “We will continue to work with the Grande Prairie Police Department to ensure the safety of our students.”

The county declined to provide any details.
