“Gas prices in Florida are up 32 cents a gallon in the past two weeks,” AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said. “It’s unusual to see such a big rise in January, but global fundamentals keep upward pressure on gas station prices. Oil investors are hoping that global demand for fuel will pick up now that China, the world’s largest oil importer, is reopening its economy.”

AAA reported that oil prices fell 2% last week after rising 10% over a two-week period.
