Experts tell the WFAA that demand for the first half of the year is trending higher around this time, as are prices, on top of what we saw during the pandemic.

However, these prices usually start to creep up in February. This year, this rise only began in March, so the rise in prices was a little more sharp.

AAA spokesman Daniel Armbruster told the WFAA that many people are expected to travel in the next few weeks.

“There are a lot of people going on spring break and a lot of people wanting to travel,” said Armbruster.

“In addition, there is a transition to summer blend gasoline, and its processing is much more expensive.”
