Garland police say a 22-year-old man has been killed and a teenager injured in a shooting that led to a car crash.

GARLAND, Texas. Garland police launched a homicide investigation to investigate a shooting that caused a car accident in an apartment building early Sunday morning.

The department said it happened on February 5 at the 4600 block of Saturn Road on the Northwest Highway. Shortly before 00:30, police and firefighters received reports that a car had crashed into a building and caught fire.

While rescuers were evacuating nearby residents, it was discovered that two people in the car had gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, where one of them died. Garland police identified him as 22-year-old Quincy Lee Branch from Dallas.

The other victim, a 19-year-old man from Fort Worth, is expected to recover from his injuries.

No suspects have been arrested at this time, and the amount of damage caused by the plane crash is unknown.
