Here are four Austin spas perfect for a pampering day

Life in Balance Spa at Miraval Austin

If you want to really switch off, Miraval is the place for you! The mission here is to create a life of balance, offering total privacy for mind, body and soul. In addition to an amazing spa, accommodations and two gorgeous pools, Miraval Austin offers a full range of wellness services such as yoga, sound baths, meditation, cooking and nutrition classes, hiking and more!

But let’s talk about the spa and what we like the most here. Miraval is our favorite among Austin resorts in general. As mentioned before, this is the place where you can really switch off. In fact, digital devices are not welcome or even allowed in some quiet areas. In addition to numerous massages, body renewal rituals and skin treatments, you will have access to a quiet room, steam room, sauna, hot tub and serenity pool.

Price: Relax & Renew Day Packages typically cost $560 but are offered for $509 in February. You can get a 10% discount when booking from Monday to Thursday. A day pass includes a $250 resort credit per person that can be used for spa treatments. Other benefits include complimentary smoothies and coffee, a gourmet lunch, a welcome Miraval tote and refillable water bottle, and unlimited participation in select daily yoga, meditation, fitness classes and health lectures.

Mokara Spa at Omni Barton Creek

If you’re looking for a more casual day spa where you don’t have to buy a package or spend the whole day, we suggest the Mokara Spa at Omni Barton Creek. The largest of the Austin spas on this list, Mokara Spa offers Austin-style signature treatments and salon services, as well as a steam room, sauna, hot tub, café, and private pool.

The private rooftop pool makes this spa a favorite place to hang out with the girls. The spa-only pool is heated year-round and reaches up to 90°F during the cooler months. In addition, this is the only place on the list with a cafe located inside the spa, although you also have the opportunity to dine and/or have a drink after a relaxing day at one of the seven signature restaurants and lounges on site.

Fairmont Spa Austin

If you’re looking for something a little more central, we’ve got a spa at the Fairmont Hotel. Enjoy a serene space to sit and listen to your body surrounded by the vibrant energy of downtown Austin. With nine treatment rooms, including two VIP couples suites and luxuriously appointed tanning beds, you’ll enjoy floor-to-ceiling views of Austin’s skyline. Each solarium has a salt pool, a eucalyptus steam grotto and a European dry sauna.

Fairmont Spa Austin offers a variety of massages, facials and nail services. After the service, enjoy relaxing in their magnificent tub overlooking the Austin skyline. If interested, you can also buy a day pass enjoy the Fairmont’s rooftop pool and hot tub. Be sure to stop by the shop along the way, where you’ll find plenty of local products such as body oils from Olive + M.

Price: Massages and facials start at $185, nail services start at $55, and day pool passes start at $40.

Spa Viata

Inspired by Italy and inspired by Austin, the exceptional Spa Viata will leave you feeling refreshed in body and mind. We love the wide range of services offered at this location located on the Texas Capitol Highway on the edge of the Hill Country. Wraps, detox, scrubs, Himalayan stone massage and our favorite Viata full body treatment. It is a combination of personal massage techniques that pamper sore muscles, while the soothing properties of lavender, stone rose and helichrysum gently lull you into a state of total relaxation. This 80-minute treat includes aromatic hot towels and a rose essence foot scrub.

The spa also features a dedicated couples suite, as well as a private spa suite with a hydrotherapy bath and experimental rain shower. After your service, spa guests can enjoy the restored pool deck with outdoor fireplace and poolside café (check opening days and hours).

Price: Body treatments start at $235, full facials and massages start at $170. The above Viata procedure costs $260.
