Fort Myers man arrested for transporting a minor across state lines with intent to engage in illegal sexual activity.

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee. A Fort Myers man was arrested in Knoxville, Tennessee for transporting a minor across state lines with the intent to engage in illegal sexual activities.

FBI agents arrested Christopher D. Brewy on Wednesday, February 1st.

According to an affidavit, police in Joplin, Missouri, received a report of a missing 14-year-old girl on January 27.

During the investigation, the Joplin Police Department was able to log into the girl’s Snapchat account with the help of her family members. The JPD found messages between her and an account later identified as Bruey.

In the messages, Broui said that he would come to pick up the victim and get married. He also expressed fear that he would be arrested, but said he trusted the victim.

The JPD checked the license plate reader for Brewe’s plates and learned that his vehicle had recently been spotted in Knoxville.

On January 28, the Knoxville Police Department patrolled the area where Brewie’s car was last seen. They spotted his car in the parking lot of the Value Inn and called for help.

The officers checked at the front desk and found out which room Broui had rented. Then they knocked on the door and announced their presence several times, but no one answered.

Eventually the officers entered the room with the key. Inside, they found the 14-year-old victim, marijuana, and several open containers of alcohol.

Brewey was then apprehended and confessed to meeting the victim in Joplin and taking her to Knoxville. He also admitted that there was sexual intercourse between them.

Brewy appeared before a United States Justice of the Peace in the United States District Court in Knoxville. He was charged with transportation for the purpose of engaging in criminal sexual activity. A trial date will be set later this year.
