Former Plano ISD teacher accused of mistreating student, county says

District officials said the alleged incident took place more than 15 years ago – between 2005 and 2009 – at Williams High School.

PLANO, Texas. Police are investigating a former Plano ISD teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

District officials said a former student notified them of an alleged incident more than 15 years ago – between 2005 and 2009 – at Williams High School involving a teacher named Michael Lloyd.

According to Plano ISD, the student attended Williams High School and Plano East High School. Lloyd worked at Williams High School until 2011 and transferred to McMillen High School, which reopened to relieve overcrowding at Williams High School.

Lloyd taught at McMillen High School from 2011 to 2023, according to the district. Investigators confronted Lloyd about the incident this week and placed him on administrative leave. Lloyd later resigned. In a statement, the county confirmed that it is no longer a Plano ISD employee.

“Plano ISD does not condone and will not tolerate any employee who engages in inappropriate, unethical or harmful behavior as outlined in this case,” the district said in a statement.

County officials said they believe this is an isolated incident, but they have disclosed the situation to be transparent to the community.

The police are investigating if there may be any additional victims of Lloyd.
