Former NYPD officer stabbed to death in Staten Island
A former NYPD officer was fatally shot in Staten Island on Wednesday evening, according to police and sources.
Police and sources said a 37-year-old man, sacked from the department several years ago, was stabbed in the neck around 8pm at 25 Elizabeth Street in West Brighton.
Sources said that the former police officer was walking with his children when he had an argument with another man.
He brought his children home but returned to continue an argument during which the suspect stabbed him, according to sources.
Police and sources said the suspect, who is described as a man wearing all black and a ski mask, fled on foot.

The victim, who has yet to be identified, was taken to the University of Richmond Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to police and sources.
The officer was fired from the NYPD in 2019, though it’s not clear why.
