Former Mueller Attorney: White House ‘Digs Deeper Hole’ By Not Answering Document’s Secret Questions

Andrew Weissmann, the lead prosecutor in the Mueller investigation into former President Donald Trump, has criticized the Biden White House on social media for its handling of classified documents and the ensuing media fallout.

“WH continues to dig the hole deeper: they couldn’t answer so many questions, which is very strange if it’s all an innocent mistake,” Weissmann, known as the “pit bull” of former special counsel Robert Mueller, said during the Russian investigation. wrote on Saturday.

“The total number of government documents found and where exactly; and what levels of classification? The tweet continued. “Why wasn’t all of this revealed in November/December?”

Weissmann, a longtime Democratic donor and staunch critic of former President Trump, tweeted the same day it was revealed that five more secret documents were found in President Biden’s home just days after the American public learned that classified documents from Biden’s time as vice president had been improperly stored in an office in Washington, D.C.

In addition, Republicans and several reporters questioned possibly political motives when the White House was notified of the classified documents days before the November midterm elections but did not release the information.

Biden also came under fire for a comment earlier this week in which he suggested that classified documents found in his Delaware garage were safe because that’s where he keeps his prized 1967 Corvette Stingray.

Republicans also pointed to Biden’s strong condemnation of former President Donald Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and suggested that the White House is applying a double standard.
