Former employee claims George Santos sexually harassed him and violated pay rules

A short-term employee of George Santos claims he was sexually harassed by a disgraced Long Island representative who allegedly touched his groin and invited him home, according to an ethics complaint he filed.

Derek Myers, a former journalist who secretly taped Santos’ confession that he “lied to everyone,” tweeted that he had complained to the Congressional Ethics Office and US Capitol police about the alleged harassment.

Myers, 30, claims Santos hired him as an assistant on Jan. 23, and two days later they were at the rep’s office in Washington, D.C. going through mail.

He claims that Santos wanted them to sit together on a small sofa and then put his hand on his knee and said, “Hey buddy, we’re going to karaoke tonight. Do you want to go?” the copy of the complaint reads. Myers tweeted.

“I graciously declined the invitation, telling the congressman that I don’t like clubs and bars and I don’t sing well. The congressman took his hand and ran it down my leg to the inside of my thigh, and then touched my groin, ”the complaint says.

According to the complaint, Santos, 34, told him, “My husband is out of town today if you want to come.”

Myers also said that Santos told him earlier that day that he had a profile on the dating app Grindr.

Santos claimed to be married, but he was not seen with his wife.

Myers also claimed that although he was hired as a staff member, he was told that his work would be voluntary until his paperwork was processed, an alleged violation of House ethics rules.

He said the job offer was canceled on Monday because Santos feared Myers, who was arrested in October for wiretapping, would secretly record him.

Myers told Santos that he would never do that, but then turned over the recording of the conversation in a Talking Points Memo. The disputing police officer, speaking of his chief of staff, said on the tape: “And I apparently screwed up and lied to him, as I lied to everyone else.”

Myers could not be contacted for comment. A spokeswoman for Santos did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
