Five killed in plane crash near 3M plant in Little Rock

A plane crashed outside a 3M plant in Little Rock this afternoon, killing five people, officials said.

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas. On Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed reports of a plane crash near Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock.

At around 12:02 p.m., officials were alerted to a twin-engine aircraft that had crashed outside the 3M plant on Walters Road.

According to official figures, all five people on the plane died during the crash.

According to the FAA, a Beech BE20 twin-engine aircraft was taking off from Clinton Airport when the crash occurred.

All people on the plane, including the pilot, were employees of CTEH, a consulting firm providing response services including “environmental data collection and management, GIS, security, incident management, industrial hygiene, toxicology, and human health consulting for public and private sectors.”

“We are incredibly saddened by the loss of our Little Rock colleagues,” said Dr. Paul Noni, CTEH senior vice president. “We ask everyone to remember the families of the victims and the entire CTEH team in their thoughts and prayers.”

The plane was bound for John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Ohio. A CTEH spokesman said the group was responding to an incident at a steel plant in Bedford, Ohio.

According to the EPA, CTEH previously operated in East Palestine after the train derailment.

At the moment there is no information about what caused the crash.

Wind gusts at the airport were reported to be in the 40 mph range at the time of the crash.

The Little Rock Fire Department is working to put out the spot fires caused by the crash, and police are reportedly on the scene to get more information.

The FAA and NTSB will investigate the crash and determine what caused it.

Shane Carter, Director of Public Affairs and Government Affairs at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, said in a statement:

“Clinton National Airport extends our condolences to the families of those killed in today’s plane crash south of the airport. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency coordinating with the National Transportation Safety Board and will provide updates.”
