FHP seeks second person responsible for fatal Jupiter crash

JUPITER, Florida – Deadly investigation in front of Jupiter’s house.

“I don’t know if he tried to cross the street and then the body was thrown,” Juliana Dominguez said.

Dominguez is still processing what happened late Friday night meters from her front door.

“They just hit him. He landed on the windshield. And the person just turned around and walked away like a hit and run,” she said.

According to Jupiter Police, officers were attempting to stop traffic when the driver made an illegal U-turn and in the process hit a man at the intersection of Loxahatchee and Center Streets.

Police said the driver did not stop. A few moments later, two people jumped out of the car on the run. One was caught and the other left.

Larry Figaro lives across the street from Dominguez. He said he had just returned home when he saw blue lights flashing.

“I went out and looked, traffic was blocked at both ends,” he said. “Probably there were five police cars here and two at this end.”

Figaro said Jupiter police were on Central Street for several hours, but he didn’t find out what had happened until the next day.

“I turned on the news at noon and there was something about it,” he said. “A pedestrian was killed here.”

As the search for the second item continues, Dominguez said her family is pretty shaken by the whole thing.

“It was very hard to see it, and no one, to be honest, could not sleep,” she said.

If anyone knows anything about this case, please call the Florida Highway Patrol.
