FC Dallas loan homegrown Collin Smith to Birmingham Legion

FRISCO, TX (March 10, 2023) – FC Dallas has loaned homegrown guard Collin Smith to USL Championship Birmingham Legion FC for the remainder of the 2023 season. He is eligible to be recalled by Dallas at any time this season. According to the team’s policy, additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 19-year-old Smith made his professional debut for North Texas SC on July 25, 2020 against winger Madison when he came on as a substitute in the 89th minute. He is the all-time leader in regular season appearances for NTSC, having played 66 games for the club over three seasons. He scored three goals and made eight assists.

Smith began playing youth football with Solar SC in 2016 and joined the Dallas FC Academy in 2018. He scored 14 goals in 46 Academy appearances. Smith was called up to the US Under-16 team in 2019.
