Frisco, TX (Friday, Oct. 7, 2022) – FC Dallas unveiled new artwork in the Toyota Stadium player tunnel on Friday in front of Dallas players, coaches and fans. FC Dallas fans selected the artwork by voting on the Socios.com app. Iconic Dallas graffiti artist Tex Moton executed the design.

“I think it’s great. It’s a special touch for us to be closer and connect with the fans,” said FC Dallas midfielder Paul Arriola. “To tie in the culture and heritage of this club is extremely important to us. I’m happy with the new look we have going onto the field.”

“I think it’s amazing. It feels more like home,” said FC Dallas midfielder Tsiki Ntsabeleng. “The painted hands were a cool gesture. Everything about the club is about the fans more than anything. So, giving them the chance to choose this design is good for them and for us.”

“I was very excited to see what they’d come up with,” said FC Dallas midfielder Sebastian Lletget. “I loved it, I loved the expression, the colors. It’s great for when rivals come here. That’s something that they’ll walk to. On the other side, for us, it’s motivating and gets us going. Even if it’s in our subconscious, it’s motivating.”

Fans voted for their favorite design among three different selections from September 16-22 on Socios.com’s US app. Socios.com is an early leader in the fan token space and has recently launched a US app that offers fans trivia contests, sweepstakes and polls, like the fan vote used to select the new artwork in the Toyota Stadium player tunnel.

“Socios.com is thrilled to partner with FC Dallas, the club’s fans and legendary Dallas artist Tex Moton in bringing to life the latest addition to Toyota Stadium,” said Malcolm Douglas, US VP, Socios.com. “Now, every time the FC Dallas players and coaches take the pitch, they will run past a statement piece chosen by the fans, for the fans.”

Moton has produced some of the most Instagrammable murals across Dallas/Fort Worth including the “Welcome to Dallas” mural in Deep Ellum and the Texas Rangers’ “Home Team” mural at Globe Life Field. Moton also helped design the “City Edition” basketball court and jersey for the Dallas Mavericks in 2019. He has now stretched his creative energy into soccer with FC Dallas, executing the player tunnel installation in the approximately 4,480-cubic-foot space over a span of five days. Moton also installed the mural on the north end of Toyota Stadium in May 2022

“The really cool part about this project was the fan engagement,” said Moton. “We had three designs submitted and the fans voted on it through the Socios.com app. It was really a community effort, and I just had the pleasure of executing on it and adding some details to it.

“It really embodies the whole culture of FC Dallas because it wasn’t just selected and then presented to fans,” he continued. “The fans are the ones who selected what they wanted to see and what would energize the players.”

FC Dallas players will enter the pitch through the tunnel for the first time on Sunday, October 9 when they host Sporting Kansas City on Decision Day in a match presented by Socios.com (Tickets | TXA21, FCDallas.com/Stream, KMPX 29, Talk Radio 1190 and TUDN 1270AM).
