FBI arrests central Florida fugitives involved in Jan. 6 riot

On the morning of the third anniversary of the attack, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) successfully apprehended three fugitives at a ranch in Central Florida. These individuals are accused of participating in the infamous insurrection that occurred on January 6 at the United States Capitol.

In an official statement, the FBI Tampa Field Office announced, “The FBI executed three federal arrest warrants early this morning at a ranch in Groveland, located in Lake County. The subjects taken into custody are January 6 fugitives Jonathan Daniel Pollock, Olivia Michele Pollock, and Joseph Daniel Hutchinson III. The defendants are scheduled to appear in Federal Court in Ocala, Florida on Monday, January 8. No further details regarding their capture are currently available.”

Jonathan Pollock, who has been on the run since the summer of 2021, was indicted alongside his sister Olivia, Hutchinson, and two others for their involvement in the January 6 insurrection. A witness informed federal authorities that Jonathan had returned to work after the riot and proudly shared pictures and videos of himself at the Capitol, boasting to his coworkers about his appearance in the news.

Hutchinson, an employee at the Pollock family’s gun shop in Lakeland, has been a fugitive along with Olivia since the summer of 2023 after they failed to appear for their trials, according to federal authorities. Investigators were able to identify all three fugitives through body camera footage, social media videos, and pictures from the January 6 attack. Additionally, court documents revealed that Olivia’s cellphone was traced to the Capitol on that fateful day.

Specifically, Jonathan is accused by federal authorities of breaching a barricade and assaulting officers. His alleged actions include grabbing an officer by the waist and pulling them down the stairs, punching another officer in the face, and stealing a police shield.

It is worth noting that the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has resulted in over 1,200 individuals being charged, while hundreds of others have been identified but remain at large. The ongoing investigation continues to uncover the extent of the events that unfolded on that historic day.
