Father still looking for answers 2 years after daughter’s murder in Dallas

A North Texas father who lost his daughter to a violent crime marked the spot where her body was dumped two years ago.

The murder of 42-year-old Ashley Moore has not been solved, but her father hopes his actions will get someone in the know to report it.

Hardy Moore, 78, brought a cross and flowers to an area near Interstate 20 and Clark Road in southwest Dallas where his daughter’s body was found.

“When I had problems with my military service in Vietnam, she helped me. She listened to me. She was talking to me. We walked around the neighborhood. my buddy,” Moore said.

Now Moore can no longer walk with his buddy.

“She was killed in February 2021,” he recalled. “She left home on February 8th and on February 11th she was reported missing, she was found on February 12th and I named Valentine’s Day on February 14th.”

The body of a single mother was found the day before a deadly winter storm brought North Texas to a standstill for several days.

The police posted bulletins in the hope that someone might be contacted, but received no leads.

“She wasn’t killed here because her socks were clean, but she was dumped here like this garbage,” Moore said.

His daughter’s body was left in a place where people throw away what they no longer need, about 300 meters from the street.

“I could almost hear her calling me: “Daddy!”, But I could not help her. It hurts,” Moore said.

We walked with Hardy Moore to the very place where we found his daughter.

“I drew it myself and just decorated it from the bottom of my heart,” he said. “This is for my baby.”

Moore drove a cross into the ground where her body was found.

“She was a Christian. I don’t care what else she could do, but she knew Christ,” he said.

The grief and pain were as deep today as they were two years ago.

“This is my daughter, my little daughter, and I miss her very much. I don’t sleep at all at night. I mean, I cry at night,” Moore said. “I miss my partner. I miss my daughter. I need help, please help me. State, city, whatever. Help me solve this crime.”
