Father charged with killing daughter and 3 others at Brevard County home

BREWARD COUNTY, Florida. A man was arrested on Wednesday accused of killing his daughter, her mother and two others at a Brevard County home, Sheriff Wayne Ivey said.

The sheriff announced the arrest of 36-year-old Domenico Gigante during a press conference on Wednesday evening.

Ivey said deputies were called Wednesday morning to a house on Alan Shepard Avenue in the Canaveral Groves neighborhood.

According to Ivey, four people were found shot dead inside. They were identified as Glenda May Tervillegar, 63; Michael Andrew Watson, 36; Constance Marie Tervillegar, 35, and Kiara Tervillegar, 15.

Ivey said there were two other children in the house — ages 6 and 9 — but both were unharmed. The sheriff said the 911 call was made by someone contacted by one of the kids in the house.

“While they were driving here, they kept them in touch,” Ivey said. “And the reason for that, and I think it was totally the right mindset, was that they didn’t want to disconnect from the child because they didn’t know if the child was still in danger or not.”

Investigators said Gigante left his Rockledge home at 1 a.m. Wednesday and headed to the victim’s home, where he broke into the house and shot the victims.

Gigante then returned to his home, where he was later arrested by police, the sheriff’s office said.

Ivey said that Gigante, who is the father of Kiara Tervillegar and had a previous relationship with Constance Marie Tervillegar, has a history of violent crime including animal cruelty and domestic violence dating back to 2005.

“This man should never have been on our streets where he could hurt anyone,” Ivey said.

Ivey said Gigante will be held without bail in the Brevard County Jail and faces four counts of first-degree murder. It is held without bail.

The sheriff said investigators have yet to establish a motive for the fatal shooting.

“He was the biological father of a 15-year-old and so I believe it has to do with household chores to some extent,” he said.

This is an evolving story and will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
