EASTAMPTON, NJ (BURLINGTON)– In a tragic incident at the Eastampton Gardens apartment complex, a 26-year-old man from Willingboro lost his life due to a fatal gunshot wound. The Burlington County Prosecutor, LaChia L. Bradshaw, and Eastampton Township Police Chief, Joseph Iacovitti, confirmed this devastating news.

The investigation into this incident commenced on the evening of February 10, just before 7:15 p.m. Prompted by a report of a motor vehicle crash, officers from the Eastampton Township and Westampton Township police departments rushed to the intersection of Hedding-Jacksonville Road and Welsford Way.

Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered that Christian Kurtz, the victim, had sustained a gunshot wound. Kurtz was immediately transported to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital by ambulance, where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries approximately 30 minutes later.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it was determined that Kurtz had been shot while present at the apartment complex. After being shot, he managed to drive a short distance before colliding with another vehicle.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy today to gather further evidence and information.

The investigation into this tragic incident is being jointly carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Eastampton Township Police Department, with the valuable assistance of the Westampton Township Police Department. Leading the investigation are BCPO Detective Nicholas Schieber, BCPO Detective Kevin Smith, and ETPD Det. Richard Tracy.
