Fans hung a 49ers t-shirt on a statue of Rocky Balboa in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, PEN PEN (KION-TV) — The City of Brotherly Love will be a war zone on Sunday with an online trip to the Super Bowl. The first-place Eagles take on the red-hot 49ers on a 12-week winning streak.
49ers fans have already arrived to prepare for the game and are reporting it to the Eagles fans. A statue of Philadelphia icon Rocky Balboa was draped in a 49ers shirt.
The nearly 9-foot tall statue was commissioned in 1980 by Sylvester Stallone, who played Rocky in nine films. The statue was a prop in the 1982 movie Rocky III. Stallone donated the statue to the city when production on the film was completed.
