Fallen trees, power lines and flooding have closed parts of Monterey County.

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) — Reports of downed trees, power lines and flooding have prompted Caltrans and CHP to quickly address hazards on roads they have completely or partially closed.

Highway 101 near Chualar is again having trouble with flooding. The NRP says it’s not far from Chualar.

The flooding occurred in three different parts of Highway 101: south of Chualar, right at the Chualar exit, and north of the Potter Road exit.

According to the CHP, one lane is currently closed and people are being asked to avoid back roads as water rescue work is underway there.

This includes the Old Stage and Williams Road, where the site is closed, according to the city of Salinas.

Another major closure occurred on Del Monte Avenue in the city of Monterey between Casa Verde Street and Sloat Avenue.

The city says the road there is closed due to a broken tree and power lines, and the closure is expected to last throughout the day.

Some schools are also closed as a result of Friday’s evacuation order. Click here for a list
