ERCOT says grid will meet supply and demand during forecast winter storm

ERCOT says the network is currently stable and they are not requesting any areas for energy savings.

A winter storm warning is in effect until Wednesday 6 a.m. WFAA meteorologists say freezing rain and sleet is expected in the DFW area, with accumulations of ice 0.10 to 0.50 inches thick.

Be aware that ice begins to accumulate on power lines or tree branches near power lines, which can lead to local power outages. These outages will not be network related.

ERCOT is reminding Texans facing a power outage to call their local electricity supplier.

ERCOT will continue to monitor the network status and forecast and will notify the public of any changes.
