Empowering the Women of the Future

LEE COUNTY, Florida. Tomorrow, the Iona McGregor Fire Department will open registration at its annual Braveheart Camp on Friday, April 7th.

For students in grades 5-8, 30 places will be open. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Preference will be given to newcomers and returning participants will be placed on a waiting list.

Camp Brave Heart is for young girls to empower and train them in fire fighting, team building and leadership. The majority of counselors will be women in various positions in the fire department and various agencies.
