Eagle Pass officers seize over $170,000 worth of fentanyl from ice box

EAGLE PASS, TX (CBSDFW.COM) – On January 18, US Customs and Border Protection officers seized 7.4 pounds of fentanyl worth over $170,000.

The drugs were hidden in an ice box found in the cargo hold of a Honda Odyssey that had entered from Mexico. A search of the trailer by the K-9 team and non-intrusive screening systems led to their discovery.

Officials said Homeland Security special agents were investigating the seizure.
