Dog struggles to survive after shooting owner: ‘We need another miracle’

A dog clings to life after being wounded in a gunfight that also killed its owner.

Richmond Animal Care and Control said dog Luca was found 20 hours after the shooting at a Virginia home.

“It’s a miracle that Luke survived; we need another miracle to save him,” the RACC said in a Facebook post.

The vets said that Luka had bullet fragments in his head and neck. However, it is unclear how this will affect his spine.

“His outlook is restrained at best, but we can’t give up until we’ve tried everything we can to help him,” the post continued.

The orphanage said it is also accepting donations for Luka’s treatment.

“We hope his heartbreaking story can have a happier ending,” the shelter said.

Richmond police are not looking for suspects in the shooting, according to WRIC.

This story was reported from Los Angeles.
