Dog Beach and Boca Grande Beach reopen to the public

Lee County Parks and Recreation announced that access to Dog and Boca Grande Beaches reopened to the public on Wednesday.

These establishments are open 7 days a week, from dawn to dusk.

Residents and visitors are advised to:

• Beaches and coastal parks have not been restored to their pre-Hurricane Yan state.

• Some amenities, such as restrooms, piers, and pedestrian crossings, have not been repaired or replaced at this time.

• Debris continues to wash ashore and can quickly be hidden by sand.

• Beach shoes should always be worn.

• Garbage can still be found in coastal areas such as dunes or mangrove shorelines.

• Closing signs posted where necessary.
