Texas Campaign for the Environment is seeking Environmental Field Organizers to create relationships within designated communities and build our grassroots base of supporters. Organizers will be held to high expectations of performance with weekly and monthly goals for various organizing activities. The key responsibility for the Field Organizer is conducting membership recruitment, fundraising and letter-writing drives within the community, primarily through COVID-safe door-to-door canvassing. When organizers are able to demonstrate proficiency in their core responsibilities, they will have opportunities to spend work time taking on other tasks, which could include research, preparing for direct actions, lobby days, digital organizing, and assisting in activist and donor development.

The hours for this position are 2 p.m to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday (schedule may occasionally vary based on campaigns).

Qualifications: High-level relationship building skills with the ability to build consensus, engage a wide range of diverse stakeholders and allies, and navigate complex community and political dynamics; Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, et al; Ability to work independently, problem solve, and manage time and priorities; Good listening, speaking, and writing communication skills; Genuine commitment to the environment, progressive politics, and the vision of a just and equitable society; Team-player; Some related non-profit, political, or volunteer experience is preferred but not required; Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
