Do you want to get creative? The Mayer Museum in San Angelo offers “National Dinosaur Drawing Day” events to the public.

Follow along, connect the dots, or create your own dinosaur illustration until January 28th.

SAN ANGELO, TX – “National Dinosaur Drawing Day” is one of many unique celebrations that not many people know about.

For the first time, the Mayer Museum in San Angelo is celebrating the holiday with free events for all ages until 5:00 pm on January 28th.

“National Dinosaur Drawing Day is actually a national holiday, just like National Donut Day or all those little celebrations that happen throughout the year,” said Mayer Museum curator Rocio Moncibais.

Monsibise offered to celebrate the holiday by distributing paper, pencils, crayons and other needlework supplies to visitors.

“I thought it was really in line with what we offer here at the museum,” she said.

The real holiday falls on January 30, but since the museum is closed on this day, we decided to arrange events on the days preceding it.

It also provides scheduling flexibility, and so far it has hosted local families, visitors, and even Angelo State University students.

“Actually we had two [ASU] classes that came to take part,” Monsibe said.

“One of them was an education class and the other was an art class,” she added.

Visitors can draw by connecting dots, following tutorial pages, or creating their own vision on a plain piece of paper.

As a rule, the beginning of the year for the museum is quite slow, but this event has led to an increase in attendance.

Most visitors learned about the holiday from social networks, and on January 30, photos of the creations will be posted online.

Following this year’s success, Monsibe hopes to continue what she hopes to turn into an annual tradition.
